Hips Don’t Lie – Yamuna reset for the hips and pelvis
One of the most common issues I see in clients is discomfort in the “hips”. I use the quotes around the word because it can take various forms and mean different things to different people. But something is just not right somewhere in the band around the inner thigh, outer hip, gluts and possibly into the low back. Maybe the tension moves around or comes and goes, but the feeling of discomfort or tension remains most of the time. If this sensation seems familiar, perhaps your hips are telling you something!
Whether it is too much time sitting (long car or plane rides included), or too many lunges, or an imbalance in your posture, this area of the hips and back tend to take the brunt of the punishment. Releasing all the muscles that connect into the hip and pelvis is essential to reestablishing balance and ease.
In this short session, we will explore the relationship between the pelvis, legs and torso. Let’s release the legs to hang freely from the pelvis and free the torso to float away from the pelvis.
