About

Michelle’s Philosophy
My passion is to teach others how to create a sustainable body so they can keep doing what they love for a lifetime. Our fast-paced society has drowned out the messages our body sends us. I want to help people tune back into their own channels so they can better understand what their body needs. When people grasp this concept, it’s like a light switch has flipped on, and nothing brings me greater joy.
It’s not about fixing the body; the heart of this healing journey lies in our ability to listen to the constantly arising messages within us. When we are in an exploration mode, without a focus on right or wrong, the body can let go of old patterns and create a space for self-healing.
Yoga is not about achieving anything, but rather about finding balance in mind, body and heart. Our practice should shed light on those areas of our body and our life where we are out of balance and then invite us — not force us — into a more balanced and harmonious relationship with ourselves. This kind of subtle practice can be done at any age, in any body, and anywhere, and can guide us to find the right practice for ourselves, whether beginner or advanced. On the field, in the studio, at home, or even if we are recovering in bed, we can do this kind of yoga practice for a lifetime.
Michelle’s Story
Michelle wandered into her first yoga class in 1994, looking for a way to heal a broken body. At the time, she was working in marketing for a major bank, and her stress levels were significant. Just one class demonstrated the calming power of this practice and she knew she needed this in her life. Her enthusiasm for these positive changes led her to become certified and she soon began teaching throughout the Houston area. Guided by her love of teaching and her insatiable curiosity for healing the body, she sought out additional certification in Thai Yoga bodywork, and the Yamuna® Method, including Yamuna® Body Rolling, Foot Fitness and Face Ball. In 2019, Michelle became a Level 1 iRest® yoga nidra teacher, and in 2020, she was certified as a Barefoot Training Specialist® with EBFA. Her knowledge is rounded out with a certification in Holisitic Health and studies in Ayurveda and fascia.
Michelle’s passion for serving others has guided her through more than 25 years of teaching classes, private sessions, retreats and workshops. With a strong background in anatomy and alignment, she brings an extensive knowledge of the body to her teaching. Her detailed and precise instruction helps students gain a better understanding of their bodies and how to care for them, both on and off the mat.
“I just help start the conversation,” Michelle says. “By welcoming the body as it is and listening with compassion to the messages it gives us, we can create an environment for self-healing.”
As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, Michelle offers one-on-one or small group mentoring to yoga teachers seeking more confidence in their lives and in the classroom.
Michelle, ERYT500, YACEP, IYS, graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in Speech Communications. She lives in Katy with her loving and supportive husband and three children along with their dog and two cats. When not on the mat, she loves to run, play with her dog, learn new things, write and travel.

Mentoring Teachers
Finding your path as a teacher
You have finished your teacher training, but now what? We are not meant to walk this path alone, but to partner together to find support for our dreams and aspirations. In this program, we will discuss your desires as we peel back the layers of self to find the authentic voice you wish to share. This is more than a mentorship. It is a true partnership in growth to help you realize your highest potential as a person and as a teacher. Our approach will cover three aspects of your yoga journey, including but not limited to: nurturing and nourishing yourself and your practice; yoga as your business, including practical questions on meeting the needs of the classroom and private sessions; and aligning your teaching with your heartfelt desire for life, or “from the mat into the world” .
We will partner together a minimum of three times per month in sessions via in-person, phone and video call, with availability for support anytime throughout the term.
- Monthly: $150 per month
- 3 Month Partnership: $390
- 6 Month Partnership: $720
Workshops
In addition to scheduled events, Michelle is available to present workshops on request. Please see below for examples of past workshop topics. This is by no means an inclusive list. Michelle will work with you to tailor the presentation to the needs of your group.
